Inviting Applications for the position of Education Specialist at Pallavan Learning Systems, New Delhi.

Pallavan Learning Systems (PLS) partners with schools, educators, and learning communities to strengthen educational practice. We focus on teacher development, curriculum support, assessment reform, and the implementation of progressive curricular frameworks that align with national policies while improving day-to-day classroom practice.

We are seeking an Education Specialist who will work with school leaders and teachers to design, implement, and sustain high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment practices. The role blends on-ground academic support, capacity-building, and systems-strengthening with a strong emphasis on competency-based education, NEP/NCF alignment, and meaningful technology integration.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assessment and Competency-Based Learning
    • Support schools to design and implement competency-based assessment systems aligned with CBSE, NEP 2020, and the latest NCF recommendations.
    • Develop assessment frameworks, rubrics, blueprints, question banks, and evaluation tools that measure competencies and higher-order thinking.
    • Advise on effective formative and summative assessment practices; promote feedback cycles, student self-assessment, and evidence of learning.
    • Conduct workshops on assessment reform, student portfolios, experiential learning, performance tasks, and competency tracking.
    • Guide schools in transitioning from rote-based to experiential, application-oriented pedagogies and reporting formats.
  2. Mathematics Education
    • Provide academic and pedagogical support in Mathematics across grades, focusing on deep conceptual understanding and reasoning.
    • Design activity-based and experiential learning sequences and support differentiated instruction.
    • Co-plan units and lessons with teachers; model classes where needed; review student work to inform instruction.
    • Mentor teachers to strengthen discourse, questioning strategies, and student engagement in the math classroom.
  3. Science Education
    • Provide academic and pedagogical support in Sciences with an inquiry- and investigation-led approach.
    • Design hands-on, activity-based learning experiences and lab/field tasks; integrate cross-disciplinary themes where relevant.
    • Support curriculum planning, lesson design, and differentiated instruction aligned to competencies and learning outcomes.
    • Mentor teachers on conceptual clarity, scientific thinking, safety, and assessment of practical skills.
  4. Education Technology and Digital Learning
    • Enable purposeful integration of technology into teaching and assessment to enhance learning, inclusion, and feedback.
    • Recommend and help implement suitable digital platforms, assessment technologies, AI-enabled tools, and blended/FLN models.
    • Build teacher capacity for effective, ethical, and efficient EdTech use; support creation of digital resources and microlearning assets.
    • Co-develop tech-enabled pedagogical practices including interactive tasks, analytics-informed remediation, and digital portfolios.
  5. NEP/NCF/CBSE Alignment and School Systems Support
    • Translate NEP 2020, NCF, and CBSE circulars into practical school-level plans, processes, and documentation.
    • Support academic planning, curriculum mapping, learning outcome alignment, and institutional preparedness for reforms.
    • Strengthen systems for assessment, teacher professional development, reporting, data use, and classroom processes.
    • Stay current with policy developments and guide schools through change management and implementation timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Education, Mathematics, Science Education, Curriculum Studies, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in classroom teaching, teacher training, curriculum development, academic coordination, or school leadership.
  • Strong familiarity with CBSE systems and current educational reforms, including NEP 2020 and NCF.
  • Demonstrated experience with competency-based education and assessment design.
  • Track record of designing and facilitating teacher training programmes and academic workshops.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital learning ecosystems.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong pedagogical grounding and subject-matter expertise, with Maths and/or Science preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with school leaders, teachers, and academic teams in diverse contexts.
  • Strong documentation, planning, project management, and reporting skills.
  • Analytical, data-informed, and solutions-oriented approach with attention to quality and timelines.
  • Ability to translate policy frameworks into implementable practices and measurable outcomes.

Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in CBSE academic coordination, assessment and examination reforms, Mathematics and/or Science education, teacher professional development, educational technology integration, curriculum and instructional design, NEP/NCF implementation, school leadership, or academic administration.

Nature of Engagement

  • Full-time, consultant, or project-based engagement.
  • Preferably based in Delhi NCR; travel to schools and training sites is required.
