September Issue I
Dear Readers,
For this newsletter, we are pleased to share the second edition of Explore Culture magazine, an initiative of the participants of the India-Bhutan Youth Summit.
The magazine aims to make citizens in both India and Bhutan more aware of their own heritage as well as expose them to interesting insights regarding the neighbouring countries’ culture. Since all the articles are written by the youth, Explore Culture is an interesting amalgamation of ideas which reflects on trends among the youth of both the countries. Moreover, it reflects on the global, solution-oriented, open-minded youth of today who are keen to explore the ways of life of diverse countries across the world.

Dear Readers,
The National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 which was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on 29th July 2020 is the first education policy plan for India for the 21st century, and the first in nearly thirty years.
Timely and progressive, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marks a historic development in our education system. The NEP’s aim is to universalise access from early childhood to higher education, where every child has access to free, safe, high quality, developmentally appropriate care and education. The focus is on a more inclusive, non-siloed and wholistic education through a new curriculum and pedagogy driven by play and activity-based learning, internship, critical thinking, use of technology and innovation. The policy envisages imparting the curriculum through highly qualified, professionally trained and well equipped teachers.
We are optimistic that the NEP will achieve what it sets out to do. Pallavan Learning System’s two team members, Sangeeta Doraiswami and Portia Conrad, share their thoughts. Sangeeta’s article can be read here:Click Here

Dear Readers,
Pallavan Learning Systems works closely with its Associated Entities, one of these being Pallavanjali which is a learning environment with a difference, a paradigm of inclusive education which responds to the diverse needs of all learners. One of its programmes is the Pallavanjali Institute of Actualization of Individual Potential (PIAIP).
PIAIP was envisioned as an institute for the special needs of under-privileged young adults to receive the best life skill education possible. Effort to maximise potential of all students irrespective of gender, disability, and poverty has remained its focus. PIAIP is a one-of-a-kind programme that caters to a wide range of needs of young adults, and keeping in mind this diversity, an inclusive curriculum has been developed. Pallavanjali has always believed in being inclusive in every aspect of life, be it education, infrastructure, mind-set. Its honest endeavour has been to reach out to as many young adult students as possible.
Krishna Das who runs the PIAIP programme writes about its various projects in this article.
